THIS
IS TO REPORT that at the request of The Director of Home Affairs
Department of Southorn Centre, 130 Hennessy Road, Hong Kong, we, the
undersigned of Great East Asia Surveyors and Consultants Co. Ltd.,
did, on 18th February, 2000, attend at Happy Valley Sports Ground, Happy
Valley, Hong Kong, for the purpose of Measurement and Witness One (1)
Unit of Giant Dragon Lantern.
We
report as follows:
1.
Scope of Work
Our
surveyors carried out the measurement of One (1) Unit of Giant Dragon
Lantern ("Dragon") (Appendix1) with attendance
of Registered Professional Engineer as witness in the process of the measurement
at the location of Soccer Field No. 1 and No. 6 of Happy Valley Sports
Ground, Happy Valley, Hong Kong at 09:30 to 16:30 on 18th February, 2000.

One unit of "Colorton" Long Steel Tape (Marking: GEA50) in 50M. Copy

Method of Measurement

Highest point of the Dragon -
Our
surveyor reached the tip end of horn of the front head by hydraulic
working platform and fixed a fish-line on the tip end horn down
to the ground. Plumb line made up of fish line with two 10kg weights
attached at the ends suspending from end of horn to the ground to
obtain the vertical height of the Dragon. Photos attached in Appendix
5A and Appendix 5B.
Diameter
of the Dragon -
Our two surveyors measured the alignment vertically and horizontally
across the cylindrical steel metal skeleton frames which support
the Dragon internally to obtain the centre point of the Dragon.

Legs-
The measurements of four numbers of legs were taken from the joint
of the body to the tip of the paw. Photos attached in Appendix
7A, Appendix 7B, Appendix
7C and Appendix 7D.
Dragon
Body-
The measurement was taken inside the body of the Dragon sector by
sector from the tip front of the Dragon head to the extreme end
of the tail. Our surveyors proceeded to measure from the centre
point of the diameter of each sector of the steel metal skeleton
frames up to the extreme end of the tail of the Dragon. Photos attached
in Appendix 8.

of the Dragon, The Foshan Folk Art Research Institute supplied by the
manufacturer of the Dragon, The Foshan Folk Art Research Institute in

in Appendix 9 with more details.
